Home is Where My Heart Is {Review PLUS Printable}

This girl has had a run with the reviews lately.  This has been a mental lifesaver with this bum back.  While I luck out that our laundry is in the basement, that means no craft area as well.  Boo!  Hiss!  Anywhoos, in order to get the review done, the Mr. brought up my Silhouette machine and I made a quick project to see how it works.

I gotta say, I am loving the Vellostar chalk markers.  There's a variety of vivid colors and that are simple and easy to use.  I used my Silhouette to cut out a simple quote and placed on a chalkboard, simply filling in the template...and Voila!  Want to try them?  Get yours HERE!

I can't wait use these markers for the holidays.  Last year, almost all of our Christmas decor was handmade by myself or Miss O.  These are going to help make amazing signs and ornaments!

I made a free printable of the quote that you can get HERE.  Just print.cut.frame!

Whiskey Chilling Stones

Recently here at the LBH, we painted the kitchen.  We went for Tuscan, Sunshine, ok Big Bird Yellow to a greyish (I know shocker) ivory, creamer like look.  When emptying the kitchen to prep for painting, I came to a stark realization.  We have a serious bar ware collection going on! Need a red wine glass?  We got ya!  Need to white wine glass?  Guess what...we have that as well!

What we did NOT have was a set of whiskey chilling stones.  Alas, the good ol' blog was asked to review a set!  These soap stones are perfect to chill your drinks without diluting them.  Also, unlike other chilling stones that are not made of pure soapstone, these do not leave a residue.  Since my party days are pretty much a thing of the past, I can vouch that these stones are amazing in soda and orange juice as well!

You can buy them HERE or if in the area, stop on by for a drink!

TerraCheriƩ Luxury Body Brush Review

So it must be a sign.  I go back to blogging and the items to review thus far are a foot soak, detox tea, a body brush, and whiskey chilling stones.  If that isn't a demand for self-care, I don't know what is!

This TerraCheriĆ© Luxury Body brush will do wonders for your skin.  The makers suggest a dry brush to exfoliate the dead slough from your bod.  Some soft circular motions all over and away you go. I followed the directions and Holy ashy!  As if my skin could appear any paler, Casper came out just in time for Halloween!  Afterwards a nice warm shower and some good old Baby Magic lotion, I was a new lady!

I am continuing to do this every other day in hopes that its cellulite reduction powers will take over and make those bad boys fade into the flesh!

Crock Pot Stuffed Peppers

Peppers, crock pot, stuffed peppers

Fall seems to be the busiest time of the year.  Between school, working part time, and the social calendar of a 6 year old, time for meals is usually put on the back burner.  I refuse to go all processed here at the LBH, but quick and easy meals are a must.  Tis the season for all things pumpkin, and time to get the ol' crock pot dusted off to make a regular appearance on the meal plan.

This is by far one of the easiest dishes out there.  The best part, no need to even brown the meat...not going to lie, it freaked me out a bit the first time I tried it.  But these peppers are ah-mazing!  So easy to prep.  You can fix it and forget it!

Oleavine Foot Soak Review

Of course here at the LBH, a pedicure is reserved only for the first day of school.  I drop the kid off, hang out for some Tears or Cheers with the other parents, and then a few of us celebrate our freedom with lunch (alcohol included) and pedicures. And unless an immediate family member has a summer wedding, that's all the pampering these piggies get.  Even when looking at my ghostly "Flintstone Toes" (as a kid in grade school so kindly coined them) I can't justify a pedicure.  A little voice in my head says "You could buy your kid a pair of new shoes for the price of a pedicure".  Nice Jenn, you've turned into your father!

I was given the Oleavine Therapeutic foot soak to try and figured I would give it a whirl.  WOW!  My feet will never be the same.  The minute you open the bag, you are hit with such a clean and refreshing scent.  It was made with an amazing combination of  Epsom salt, Dead Sea Salt, Himalayan Salt, and Essential Oils. Soaking them-yes I used a mixing bowl-caused a cool and tingling sensation.  Afterwards they were so soft and the clean fresh feeling lasts for hours!

Foot Soak

You can get your own foot soak HERE.  Thinking some of this in a cute little Mason jar would make a wonderful Christmas gift!

Little "BOO" House

One of my favorite holidays is right around the corner. I relish in the crisp weather and all things spice and pumpkin...that is until it's time to bust out the eggnog!  Usually by now the LBH is all decked out in ghouls and goblins, but alas, the ol' back has me down.  While I await new insurance and the new year with surgery,  the tubs stay in the basement.  Good thing I am a procrastinator and forgot to put up pics from last year!

Last year I went for the gore effect.  While the Mr. is all about catching up on the Walking Dead, this is about as gruesome as I can handle.  Eyeballs, brains, and severed hands greeted those who dared to enter.  Must pieces were found at the good ol' Dollar Store.  Miss O daily marked the days on my Halloween Countdown.

After all the webs are hung, I do love throwing a spine tingling night of frightful food and drink.  All while the Mr. trudges through the streets with Miss O in search of the candy jackpot! I usually make my taco soup and we have pizza and sandwiches.

Last year, I went all Pinterest on the night.
I made my first ever rib dish in the crock pot and from what everyone says, it was delicious-I don't do ribs!  I uses THIS recipe.

This poor guy wasn't feeling too well!
