Taco Soup Recipe

Last week my sweet Aunt Sis had to get her knee replaced.  Since Uncle JimJim received his compassion/nursing degree from the same place his brother (AKA my PopPop) did, I figured I better bring her some soup and Miss O for some TLC.  I make this soup through out fall and winter, and ALWAYS on Halloween. It is a nice change from regular old chili.  This year we had fall all of a minute and then it was back in the 80s so more soup will need to wait.  This easy dish can be changed to suit whatever spice you like.  Add some sour cream and cheese at the end and you will be in heaven!

This week is going to be a busy one here in the LBH!  We are trying to get the last of the grilling days in.  Not difficult considering the temperature has been OVER 80!  This coming weekend Buster and I are heading out of town for a romantic getaway...NAH just his college homecoming game!!  So there will be ZERO cooking ALL WEEKEND!  <Insert ticker tape parade here>  Here is what we will be eating this week in the LBH!

Happy Fall Y'all { + Free Printable}

IT'S FALL!!!!  Miss O asked me what happens on the first day of fall.  While I really wanted to tell her it was opening day at Starbucks for pumpkin spice lattes, I Googled and told her it was the moment when the Sun's position in the sky passes directly overhead on the equator, heading southward.   HUH?  Pumpkin spice lattes it is!  So excited for what this season brings-Open windows (unless the whole damn town is burning leaves at the same time-YUCK!), sweaters, and of course all things pumpkin!

I made this quickie printable for all you decorating for fall.  You can find it HERE.  The LBH goes straight to Halloween so look forward to a deluge of all things spooky!

What are you looking forward to this fall?

Cinnamon Bread Recipe

Once a month, Miss O's school has the parents bring in treats for their staff. I have never seen a more amazing group of people. How could we not spoil them?!?!  They provide such care and kindness to our children all the while providing a top notch education. Oh, and one of the second grade teachers there has the best Big Sister in the world :). Gotta love our Aunt Boo!

 For the first treat day I signed up for paper goods and cinnamon bread. It makes 2 loaves so I made one for the school and one for home. I had to have something to take pictures of. And we all know how cinnamon is loved in the LBH! This bread is not only delicious, but sinfully easy to make. Unlike the Amish Bread that takes days and a lot of care, this quick bread is done in a jiffy. I wonder what I should make for next month... Here is the recipe for you to try at home:

Review: Orblue Garlic Propessor

Yeah Happy Mail!  I received my first product to review here on the Little Blue House.  And to top it off, it is something I will use over and over again.  Introducing the newest member of our family...The Orblue Garlic Mincer/Press!

This stainless steel kitchen gadget was AMAZING! We only use fresh garlic in recipes but unfortunately, my ADD does not provide for uniform mincing/chopping.  One bite will have a small bit, or maybe a sliver of garlic, and some you may get half the clove.  With the Orblue Propresser, all you have to do is throw a clove in, Squeeze, and VOILA!  Garlic Galore!

 Best don't even need to peel the clove.  The peel ends up in the compartment while the garlic is pressed through.  Clean up?  A dream.  No fuss and not rust due thanks to the stainless steel!
I used it to make the delicious and easy Korean Beef  found at Lizzy Writes (amazing blog you gotta check out!)
Our Version

And you know if Buster (AKA my photographer for this) is involved, candid shots will be taken.  Like this Miss O photobomb!
