Merry Mail

Merry Mail.  Mail?  From a mailbox?  Do you remember that stuff?  We forget the joy of opening up a mailbox and finding something...other than a bill.  And guess what?  Any package under 13 ounces can be mailed first class!  What can you mail?  Frisbees, movie theatre candy, ANYTHING (OK maybe not anything but ALOT!).
I decided to give it a first timer try for Valentine's Day.  I went to the post office armed with Tootsie Roll banks, small boxes of chocolates, and the famous boxes of conversation hearts.  The Tootsie Roll banks got the OK.  The others were denied based on their size.  According to the awesome post office lady, they need to be a minimum of 5 inches in width and 4 1/2 inches in height.  The cost depends on the weight.  My packages cost just under $2.50 each to send out.

I have a feeling the post office ladies and I are going to be BFF really soon!

DIY "Heart Attack"

The "Heart Attack" is a simple way for me to say I celebrated the mother of all Hallmark holidays. Valentines Day is celebrated without a lot of pomp and circumstance in the Little Blue House. I mean it is only one more month until the Most Wonderful Time of The Year!!  Each year I cover Miss O's door with all the things I love about her.  I love to see her reaction when we read them.  Be warned, when you discuss loving your "Disco Dances", a disco party will commence immediately!

If you would like to give someone a "Heart Attack", I will aid and abet you by providing the templates! You can cover a door, car, ANYWHERE!  If you have color paper or cardstock, you can download the template with black outline and words HERE.  You can also put white paper/cardstock in your printer and use the colored template HERE.

Feel free to share you handiwork on the Little Blue House's Facebook page HERE!

HAPPY SAPPY DAY Valentine's Day!

Coconut Oatmeal Cookies...YUM!

Coconut Oatmeal Cookies.  Perfect for warming up the house on this what...3rd, 4th snow day we have had!  I came across this recipe on Pinterest and knew I had to try.  We have a cookie monster (AKA PawPaw) who takes extra special care of his girl Miss O and coconut is one of his favorites so they will be waiting for him tomorrow!
